Review by Bob_Loblaw

Bob_Loblaw This show is not very good at all. I always say basically every show in Phish history is a good show despite staleness or setlist. But this to me personally is one of the few exceptions.

There is a vibe about this show that isn't good. There is lots of talk in between songs first set creating a kind of unbalanced to begin with. Trey has issues playing and singing the whole show and does not seem even remotely up to snuff with even his most average playing.

The majority of bag is butchered by trey. He tries to save it towards the end but it's too little to late IMO. Moma Dance is fairly nice and peaky. Roggae is carried fairly well by page. Water in the Sky has a surprisingly good solo by Trey. Stash is another disaster and Trey is very off with his playing and singing. At first you think "oh he's trying something different" but based on stories told I think he was just off the whole time. Timber is also rough in some parts.

46 Days kicks off set 2 rough. Drowned has some nice playing by Mike and Page it's pretty mellow. Trey completely butchers Disease. It goes into a dark jam led by Fish. Free IMO is the best playing by Trey all night it's fairly decent. Girls, Girls, Girls is a nice little experiment by the guys having Trey rap. It is obvious that Trey is into Jay-Z and maybe more into hip hop at this point. Secret Smile IMO slows things down too much and is an ill advised choice. Slave is pretty straight forward (which is good for this show).

Sally is also pretty average and straight forward.

This is likely one of the worst played Phish shows I've ever heard. I'm glad Trey got help.
