Summer Tour Announced

Phish has announced their summer 2010 tour, closely resembling the recently circulating rumored dates, with a flash video mashup of Esther Williams style synchronized swimming featuring Jon Fishman. The tour features 29 shows stretching from June 11 in Chicago to August 18th at Jones Beach.

benjaminharney Phan from Oregon. Totally bummed that the current tour doesn't include the best venue in the country (Gorge Amphitheatre) Anyways, I did notice a lengthy break between July 3rd and August 6th. Does anyone think there is a chance that they will book a few more shows to fill those dates. I mean when has Phish ever taken a month off during a full fledged summer tour? GImme some feedback! thanks

Uh, last summer for one.

benjaminharney Ya you're right! Fuck! My window to drive my camper, slang shave ice in the campground, n groove with all my best friends is slowly vanishing! I still don't understand the logic in only playing 2 venues this side of the Mississippi! Don't they realize that all the cool people have already migrated west!!! I'm crossing my fingers!

zappafrank Seriously. Phish dropped the ball on this one. Where the hell are the West Coast dates? I know, in a sense, that WC has always gotten less love, but really? 24 shows for EC and midwest, and 5 for WC? Bollocks!
, comment by benjaminharney
benjaminharney Not to mention that the 2 venues on the west coast (really one) are tiny!! I mean the student body at UC Berkeley and surrounding SF residents are gonna snatch all of those Greek tix up! CMon Phish, throw a few more dates out there. You do have fans outside of the EC!!

CannedWalrus No Gorge? So disappointed! I know this tour is going to be incredible and the closest show to me is a good 20 hour drive, and I probably won't get tickets for it. GAHHHHHH!!!!!!

phreeeeeeek I had read that they wanted to play smaller venues, which I think is great, and I think they're 100% entitled to do that. But like many others, I wish there was more west coast dates. Oh well. I'm thankful that they're coming, and I'm thankful for the lottery - at least I'll have SOME chance of getting tix outside of the 30 seconds that they'll be on sale. I'm very happy about three nights at the Greek. Saw my 2nd show there back in the Summer of 93. Dude of Life! Oh, I hope I can get tix. If I get all three nights, my show total will finally catch up with my age!!!

I said "Timber, ho!", timber, woah this timber's gotta roll! Damn, I'm giving that a listen right now. Anyone have a favorite version?

kevinAreHollo I would be happy to see a full tour of only intimate venues with multiple night stands at each.

PickItEarl @ phreeeeeeek: The Timbers from 12.7.97 and 9.30.00 stick out as some of my favorites. 12.14.95, too... although it's a shorter Timber... but holy COW what a show.

calson29 Chicago, Nobelsville, and East Troy see ya there! Hell yeeeeeeeea
, comment by Kerwin
Kerwin It is a 6+ hour drive, but I will at least make it to Atlanta on the 4th for one show. Prior commitments made the 3rd impossible, but one is better than none. This will be my first show since 2003. Also, going to being the wife and daughter for their first show. Pretty excited doesn't begin to explain...
