Date City Timing Notes
1989-03-30 Burlington, VT 6:48 Debut.
1992-04-19 Santa Cruz, CA 7:00 Oh HELL yeah! Among the earliest versions to jam.
1999-07-24 East Troy, WI 7:03 > in from "Tweezer. The band compensates for a botched and sloppy composed section by seriously stretching the ending segment (-> to "Jam" according to the Setlist) in a largely "Type I" manner that is upbeat, and with great guitar playing by Trey in his style typical of 1999. > to the debut of "The Happy Whip And Dung Song."
2000-05-22 New York, NY 9:40 Essentially straightforward, but the band nicely extends the ending jam segment by a few minutes.
2000-06-09 Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan 9:15 Ending jam segment stretches the limits of the basic jam with some nice rhythmic variation, but still stays "in bounds."
2000-06-30 Hartford, CT 12:13 > in from "Halley's Comet." Great version where the band explores and improvises with the basic "Mango" theme in a greatly extended outro jam that transitions to "Twist."
2000-09-17 Columbia, MD 18:19 > in from a great "Theme From The Bottom" -> "Dog Log" pairing. Following an extended, straightforward outro, this improvisational version morphs into a rhythmic and pulsing groove that grows increasingly effects laden and eerie, before transitioning to "Free."
2000-09-27 Englewood, CO 9:25 > in from "Ghost." Similar to 5/22/00 where the band extends the ending by several minutes, but sticks to "The Mango Song" melody.
2010-10-26 Manchester, NH 8:02 -> in from "Ghost." Straightforward but intensely played version that transitions neatly to "Weekapaug."
2013-07-26 George, WA 8:43 While mostly straightforward, there's some extra "Mango" in this solid version with great Page/Trey syncopated jamming.
Jam chart versions are selected because of improvisational and other characteristics that distinguish these from typical versions of the song.
The jam chart team has highlighted some versions with a yellow background; these are the versions the team believes to be especially improvisational, or otherwise notable.
