And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
As the other Emeritus have shared, what a great honor to get to pick the selections this week. Huge props to @uctweezer and the others before him that spend the time to track down the jams, put them together (thanks, @Dog_Faced_Boy for your technical help), and wait patiently to have the Blog's dreams of a victory dashed. I have a new appreciation for what they do. And an appreciation for how fun it is!
So after @mcgrupp81 ruined my 3 Wilsons theme (still can't believe out of all the jams in all of Phishtory, we picked the same 12/8/92 Wilson jam!), I looked to the 11/17/94 Bowie. Those 2 Page runs are literally my favorite notes he has ever played! I had been sitting on the 10/5/95 intro (!!!) as a possible MJM someday and so the David Bowie theme was built...
It was only the day after my selections that I heard the news that Hara Arena is closing its doors after 60 years.
Anyway, thank you everyone for playing along. Can't wait to hear what @uctweezer has cooked up for next week!
