I'm probably in the extreme minority here, but I absolutely love Number Line. It's got such a touching story behind it. I got a little choked up myself when I first read Tom Marshall's story about how the song came to be. You've got to consider, songs like McGrupp, Harpua, Tweezer, etc. have absolutely zero resonance for these guys at this point. Even Mike had to be convinced to play Mike's Song again in 2009, because he no longer felt any connection to it. They're all fathers and have been through more of life's tough times than they had when they wrote the "classic" stuff. As I grow older, some of the more sentimental/heartfelt Phish tunes resonate a lot more with me. Obviously I'll rage my face off when they dust off a bustout or jam out a classic in concert, but I'm a sappy bastard and won't complain in the slightest when Trey wants to sing a song that means something to him right now. We're lucky to still have him and the band.
