MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 401

Welcome to the 401st edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the final and easiest of January. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery clip, selected by MJM Hall of Famer @schvice. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Good luck!

Note: While this is a single clipper, we will not be using the "only folks who have never won an MJM can guess the first 24 hours" rule. That rule will be in effect next week though.

Answer: Congrats to @serpent_deflector on his fourth MJM win, passing the halfway mark to MJM Emeritus status in the process. This week, he used a dose of intuition and all the resources at his fingertips to identify the 10/15/94 "Runaway Jim." This week's jam was played at Oak Mountain, where Phish will play on July 31st of this year - in fact, the 10/15/94 show is the earliest appearance by Phish of all the venues they'll play this summer. Stay tuned for MJM402 on Monday, where we'll give the MJM n00bs a shot at glory.

mcgrupp81 Nice choice. Upon hearing this snippet, it made me think it could have been swapped out with the chanting that takes place when that high priest takes the beating heart out of that poor guy in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I gotta hand it to you, you've got heart...

uctweezer This one was probably too easy considering the jam chart entry talks about the yelling and chanting

Was this a ctrl-f solve @serpent_deflector? :)

Haha! You got me! Is that cheating? Is this win #3.5? :D

Edit: I did solve it within a couple minutes. It sounded like 1994, so I went straight to the jam chart for that year and searched for “chanting.” Saw that Oak Mountain Jim and thought that was probably it because of the recent tour announcement. It was the first thing I listened to.

that's not cheating in the slightest, and learning to explore and leverage the treasure trove of content on phish.net is part of the fun!
