MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 385

Welcome to the 385th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the last of August. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the songs and dates of both mystery clips, which were suggested by MJM Hall of Famers @justino and @PhreePhish. The clips are connected by a theme, but the theme needn't be part of the correct answer. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Good luck!

Hint: this picture

Answer: Congrats to first-time winner @Coleman_, who saw right through the nutty hint to track down the two jams from the Nutter Center in Dayton: 7/18/17 "Wombat," and the 11/30/95 "Tweezer." I had considered a hint about only one of the songs being named after an animal, but figured with the "Llama"-esque jamming in the "Tweezer," too many folks might be thrown for a loop. Come back TUESDAY for a one clip wonder in the wake of Dick's; if you're going, have fun!

serpent_deflector I hate to always ask this, Pete. Anyway you could post a soundcloud link as well? No matter how many times I try, it cuts off 5-10 seconds into the second clip.

serpent_deflector Well, I recognized one clip pretty easily. The other, I basically have nothing and will probably need the hint, if it lasts that long.

This one is totally solvable but I’m pretty sure it’s going to hint at this point

thesloth11 sounds like a 95 Llama...maybe 12/11/95?

Damn it. I was looking for Llamas all day yesterday. Clip 2 sounded so much like Llama. Granted, a straightforward sounding one, which is why I found it hard to track down. I’m just not good at these. The ones I’ve gotten have been luck/immediately recognizing a clip because I’m so familiar with it. That was the case with Wombat.

Anyway, congrats on the win!

Great call on that Tweezer! I haven't listened to that show in a long time. What a beast.

justino Love the hint @uctweezer. The Nutter Butter is an excellent cookie. I kinda want one now.

mcgrupp81 I listened to that Tweezer last week, but it's easily recognizable as one of the top Tweezers of 1.0. Tweezer>Makisupa>Antelope is one of the better sequences of Fall 95. I recall Kuroda noting the Tweezer as a tour highlight. I wish they played Wombat more. Fun song and it has plenty of jam potential. Moar Wombat!

MiguelSanchez I love when the MMJ has me completely stumped and I had actually attended the first clip and listened to the second a gazillion times in my life.

The MJM’s primary goal is to make vets feel bad for not remembering shit they know and love - the secondary goal is to introduce n00bs to great segments in the band’s history
