I can’t think of another video that captures Phish’s approach to improv (method/spirit) better than this one.

Thank you so much for sharing! There were two pieces that I cut from the original script, which may become separate videos in the future:

1) The ridiculous improvised transition from Halley's > Tweeprise during the Island tour. The jam section went Fm > Gm > Am > Bm > C#m > Dm > Tweezer Reprise.

2) Background on Snootable Sunshine, the epic prog tune that Nancy wrote for specifically for Phish after IDK and Halley's became staples in their catalog. When Trey first heard SS, he said something like "Well we couldn't possibly improve on your version!" Which seemed like a cordial way of saying that the band had no interest in playing it.

This was an awesome use of my lunch hour! I am not sure if I feel smarter or dumber after watching it, as I clearly don't understand a word of it. My mind only thinks in numbers and tax law, not music. But what I got out of it is that there are amazing, artistic folks who love Phish like I do. And even better, they are willing to provide us content continuously, never stopping to amaze me. While I didn't understand a lot of it, it helped me understand the amount of intelligence the Phish members have and what listening to others can do for you.

Stellar. Fantastic. One of the top shelf jams of all time and the first time I got IT in person.

The detail of this is mind boggling, but what’s even more impressive is the ease that it’s translated in.

I find that lifting the curtain with Phish doesn’t necessarily take away the magic. Because after all it’s incredible that anyone could efficiently communicate on the level they do.

As an improve fan, going way back with Jazz before I discovered Phish in 1990, this is an excellent breakdown. Super enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to take their appreciation further!

Don’t throw accolades around easily but am absolutely impressed with your observations on the construction of this jam. The video editing was top shelf too. Bravo. Look forward to your next contribution. Maybe the Went Gin or IT Chalkdust?
