LARRY KING'S PHISH NEWS & VIEWS

Rick Tocchet ... Come to think of it, Trey should also add some turntables to his rig ... I am a fan of the new stage setup, because I have never enjoyed looking at Jon Fishman ... Sometimes I like to pretend it’s my first show and shout out the wrong names for songs ... Please, folks, stay off the tarp ...

I told you in my last column for Phish.net that “Tweezer” had yet to peak and I stand by that statement ... Out of all the chillout tents I’ve visited, my favorite free beverage was the pink lemonade at the Oklahoma City Zoo ... I do not think we will get an “Icculus” at Dick’s. Anyone who wants action on this should email my PayPal ... A mid-second set “Roggae” is the musical equivalent of a high-end bidet ... I have nothing against Anderson Cooper as a broadcaster, but he regularly misidentifies the “Maze” intro as “Bowie.”

Larry King (@kingsthings) is a television and radio institution and occasional contributor to Phish.net. Out of 155 Phish shows seen live, his favorite for sentimental reasons is Gamehendge at Great Woods in 1994, though it was 2/20/93 in his adopted home town of Atlanta that hooked him for good. (He knew it wasn't Gene Simmons right away.) He will see you at Dick's Sporting Goods Park later this week. He has diverticulitis, a painful pitting of the colon. He uses and endorses custard-style strawberry yogurt.

If you liked this blog post, one way you could "like" it is to make a donation to The Mockingbird Foundation, the sponsor of Phish.net. Support music education for children, and you just might change the world.

Llamadamas Is this real?
, comment by ColForbin
ColForbin And people complain that we don't allow guest bloggers. We only have the most famous talk show host of all time here, folks!
, comment by AShipToQuebec
AShipToQuebec As King's basically the most famous talking head, I'm surprised there's no prediction of a Born Under Punches breakout at Dick's. Fingers cross[eyed].
, comment by tommyboy
tommyboy the only thing missing is Larry saying "let's go to the phones ... we have FluffForLife from Lincoln, Nebraska, on Line 1 ... of course we all want the complete GameHendge, and 20-minute versions of Tube, Bag and Jim, but this is 3.0, and we just have to live in the moment and enjoy what our favorite Vermont quartet is feeling when they are on stage ... thanks for your call ... now to Line 2, and You'reWelcomeMr.Minor from Walla Walla Washington ....."
, comment by Dmiket
Dmiket Classy column there, Mr. King. The Maze/Hood comment made me think of the extra "Wilson" chant the noobs like to throw in during the Wilson intro. I did it at my first show and I'm not too embarrassed to admit it. Also... I love Dick's.
, comment by kipmat
kipmat Awesome promo glossy pic, btw. Don't know what you're smokin', Big L, but pass it over this way... ;)
